Gaming can make people do some
weird things whether they are in a live casino or in a online one.
Couples have stayed away from each other for hours in Las Vegas, Nevada because they felt
their spouse was bad luck. And they were supposed to take the trip to come closer
together.
People carry dead animals on themselves, namely dead rabbits, out of some weird thought
that it would bring them luck -- newsflash, the animal wasn't lucky enough to survive how
much luck could it possible bring you?
We're actually waiting for the day when someone brings a real horseshoe into a casino for
luck with them. But, that still won't the weirdest superstition we've ever seen/heard.
Here are some wacky gaming superstitions that need to go away.
Those Weird Treasure Trolls
Although Treasure Trolls have become played out like Ed Hardy we still see them pop up
every once in a while next to a slot machine and they freak us out. Trust us when we say
the naked, hard plastic, little doll with neon, Don King hair isn't going to up your
payroll. If anything it will scare luck away with its coked-up gaze.
We should've known these things were wrong the first time we noticed they had no
genitalia.
Do Not Count Money While Playing
We've heard this one before and we're beginning to think some crooked casino owner from
the old Wild West came up with this superstition. You have to count your money to know if
you're up, if you're down, or if it's time to call it quits.
This is a dumb way to lose all your cash, every time. Do us a favor and don't follow this
wacky superstition. Always keeping track of your winnings helps you keep your winnings.
No Sex Before Gaming
Some punch-drunk boxer must have thought it was a good idea to bring his stupid
superstition to casino gaming as well. We assume he was just as unsuccessful at the
blackjack tables as he was in the ring trying this tactic.
There's no need for any casino player to be irritable before they get their game on. And
we guarantee this superstition will do it. You need a clear mind before casino gaming, and
nothing relaxes the brain like flipping the mattress before you flip your cards.
Don't Touch My Shoulder!
Apparently "the shoulder blades have some magic -- bad luck -- button on it that only
someone else can activate. So DO NOT touch my shoulder." You hear how dumb that
sounds?
But there are people who swear by this rule. Some people will get touched on the shoulder
at the blackjack tables and regardless of their chip stack they will storm out. We say get
a massage while you play -- they do it at the World Series of Poker. Rub it in the faces
of the people who hold on to these crazy ideas. |
